Viva · Pain rehab & movement for women
I've spent my life studying bodywork, breath and movement, and all of it has led me here. Now I teach you what I've learned, so you can take care of your body, mind and spirit, every day.
In person or online, wherever you are.
Before anything else
I've studied so many ways of moving and healing over the years, and all of them led me here.
Viva is the practice I wish every woman had. A place to breathe, to move, to release what you've been carrying, and to come back into your body.
I want you to feel strong. I want you to feel present. I want you to finish every session more alive than when you started.
Somatika, Pilates, yoga, breathwork, meditation, fascial release. Whatever your body is asking for today, it's here.
I'll hold the space. You just show up.
Andrea

Book a free assessmentWho this is for
The women I work with play pickleball and tennis, they hike, surf, run and ride. They're capable, motivated and ready to do their part. What they haven't had is someone who looks at the whole body instead of the one joint that hurts.
In your late 30s and already noticing changes? You're welcome here too.
Aching on the way down the trail, on stairs or at the bottom of a squat, often driven by how the hip and ankle are sharing load.
Stiff after a ride or a long drive, sore on the outside of the hip at night, and tight in a way stretching alone hasn't changed.
Pinching on the paddle out or an overhead serve, restricted reach, or discomfort that keeps you from sleeping on that side.
Tension that builds through the upper back and neck after long rides, long days or hours at a screen, and often travels into the head.
How I work
Knee pain often traces back to how the hip is functioning. Neck tension is frequently tied to breathing mechanics. After almost 20 years of working with people's bodies, 15 of them as a massage therapist, I assess the full kinetic chain, then treat it with both movement and manual therapy.
We retrain the movements you rely on every day, like standing up, climbing stairs and lifting, so force is distributed through the right structures.
We restore range of motion to joints that stiffened to protect an injury, progressing gradually and within comfortable limits.
Lasting relief depends on the surrounding muscles being able to support the joint. We build that capacity with progressive loading.
Long-term pain keeps the nervous system in a protective, guarded state. Targeted breathing techniques help down-regulate that response so the body can adapt.
Rooted in the Human Garage approach and guided under a certified Human Garage coach, these maneuvers use intention, slow movement and breath to release tension held in the fascia and help the body find its natural alignment. We do them hands-on together, and you learn the ones you can do on your own.
Your program is built from your assessment findings and adjusted each week based on how your body responds.
Most rehab treats the joint. Here you learn to work with the whole system around it.
Start with a free assessmentThe method
Every program I run is built on a method developed by my mentor, a former Division 1 athlete who rebuilt his own body after a severe back injury.
When a disc herniation left his leg numb and kept him from sleeping, his doctor told him surgery was his only option if he ever wanted to play sports or live an active life again. He chose a different path. Drawing on years of study in functional movement, tai chi, functional neurology and fascial work, he recovered without surgery, and helping others move beyond pain has been his work ever since.
I bring that method to you, combined with my 15 years of hands-on bodywork, and shape it around your body and your goals.
What happens
We review your history, previous treatment and goals, and I assess your posture and movement patterns.
I give you my honest assessment of whether this program is a good fit, and whether the cohort or one-on-one suits you better.
One guided session with me each week, in person or online, plus two sessions you lead on your own, with clear written instructions.
You finish knowing your pattern, how to read your body, and a maintenance routine you can keep doing without me.
Programs
This is the deeper, personal tier for pain that needs a plan. Choose a 6 week small-group cohort or 8 weeks one-on-one with me. Every option is paid in full at enrollment. Consistency is what produces results, and an upfront commitment sets us both up for it.
For women who want the method with the energy of a small group.

Not sure which is right for you? The free assessment will answer that. My recommendation is based on what your body needs, not on the more expensive option.
From clients
I'd done physical therapy twice for my knee. Andrea watched me walk for two minutes and asked about my hip. Eight weeks later I hiked all the way down without thinking about my knee.
My neck had been tight for three years. I thought the breathing part was going to be fluff. It ended up being the thing that finally let my shoulders drop.
I've been on Andrea's massage table for years. This was different. I have a routine I actually do, and I'm back on the pickleball court three mornings a week without paying for it the next day.

About me
I'm the founder of Viva. If you've been on my massage table, you already know how closely I pay attention to the way a body holds itself.
For almost 20 years I've worked with people as a personal trainer, certified yoga teacher, and breathwork and craniosacral practitioner, and for 15 of those as a licensed massage therapist. Again and again, I saw clients leave a session feeling relief, then return a few weeks later with the same pain.
Massage releases tension. On its own, it doesn't change the movement patterns that keep recreating it. This program combines both: the hands-on and fascial work I've always practiced, plus the corrective movement, strength and breathwork that help the results last.
I don't want to be the person you need to see every few weeks to feel okay. I want to teach you how your body works, so you can take part in your own healing and keep it going long after our time together.
I love working with women who refuse to slow down. I'm building that strength in my own body too, and I want every woman to have it.
Questions
The Practice is a self-paced video library with bonus recipes and self-care PDFs. It isn't ready yet. Join the waitlist and I'll email you when it opens. The rehab programs above are available now.
It's for women who are ready to show up for their own body. You'll practice on your own twice a week between our sessions, and that practice is where most of the change happens. If you'd rather have someone take care of the pain while you rest, massage may be the better fit right now, and I'm happy to keep seeing you on the table.
Your weekly guided session can be in person or online. Online works wherever you are, and in person depends on where I'm seeing clients at the time. We'll choose what works for you when we schedule your assessment. The two sessions you lead each week fit around your own schedule.
You'll follow a short routine based on that week's session, covering movement, mobility and breathing. Each exercise comes with clear instructions and its purpose. At our next session, we adjust the routine based on how your body responded. Over time, you learn to make those adjustments yourself.
Yes, with no obligation. If I don't believe this program is the right fit for you, I'll tell you directly.
Results depend on consistency. Paying upfront secures your commitment from the first session and allows me to plan your full program from day one.
We begin at your current level. For some clients, the first week focuses on breathing, gentle mobility and fascial maneuvers. The program progresses only as your body is ready.
No. This program complements medical care and does not replace it. If you've had a recent surgery or injury, or you're currently under a physician's care, let me know during your assessment and get their clearance before we begin.
Yes. On the table, I do the work. In this program, you do most of it. Hands-on work is still one part, and the program also includes corrective movement, strength training and breathwork, structured around your specific goals and progressed over 8 weeks.
